Kilkeel Primary School sets out to create a caring and supportive environment where all children can develop to the best of their ability and achieve success in the many opportunities offered to them.
Our school endeavours to provide a safe and comfortable environment for learning.
In our most recent Inspection Report it judges the quality of our arrangements for pastoral care as ‘outstanding’.
In our school we recognise the fact that each pupil is an individual in his/her own right and that the organisation of teaching should reflect this. We pride ourselves on a high standard of teaching and through a wide variety of teaching techniques and grouping methods we endeavour to involve, motivate and cater for each individual.
The school recognises the value of experience beyond the classroom with all pupils benefitting from visits to places of interest each year –These include, Kilbroney, Cranfield, Lisburn Linen Centre, Tayto, East Coast Adventures, Silent Valley, Ballyvea Museum, Annett’s Garden Centre and Stormont.
The children will also have the opportunity to go on a residential to Dublin in P7.
Children have opportunities to participate and develop skills in a wide range of extra-curricular activities. These include Soccer, Hockey, Cross Country, Fitness, Dance, After Schools Club, Choir and Music Tuition.
The school is very well equiped for teaching and learning. We have acquired a wide range of indoor and outdoor resources that help children get the most out of their time in K.P.S. Our resources include outdoor play equipment, three separate tarmaced play areas, use of astroturf, gravel and football pitch, 3 computer suites, data projector with white board in each classroom, interactive whiteboards and a canteen.
Visitors are warmly invited to meet with the Principal, Mrs McCabe, to view the school.
